Community Action Marin:
Early Head Start
Community Action Marin offers this option to serve families with children from 0 to 3 years. They are full day, full year programs with comprehensive health, nutrition, education, social services, and family development.
Community Action Marin’s Home Base program serves expectant families and children from birth to age 5 in the family’s home. A Home Visitor comes to the home each week for an hour and a half and assists the parents in developing their role as their child’s first teacher. Each month socializations are planned for children and parents to come together for a learning and social experience.
Pregnant women receive home visits from a Home Visitor, who provides prenatal education on fetal development, breast feeding, what to expect during labor and delivery, and postpartum recovery. The parents have the option to enroll the baby into the Early Head Start Home Base program following the birth.
