Employment Opportunities

At Community Action Marin, we believe that everyone should have an opportunity to be independent.  So we have designed a comprehensive range of program and resources specifically aimed at helping individuals get on the path to independence.  Rather than addressing one specific issue at a time, our Goal is to look at an individual’s circumstances holistically–to understand the complex nature of what it means to be a human being trying to navigate the world when you’re not afforded the benefits that so many of us are fortunate enough to enjoy.  Our financial services center teaches people about money, banking and budgeting.  For those with mental health issues, our trained conselors provide group support, therapy classes and patient rights advocacy.  And, of course, we’re there to help with emergency needs because emergencies are a fact of life.

Community Action Marin is seeking members of the community to serve on the Board of Directors (BOD).  The BOD is responsible for setting the mission, vision, values and strategy while overseeing the Executive Director.  the Community Action BOD is tripartite, made up of members of the public from the private sector, public sector and clients of the Agency.  Specific desired qualifications include:

  • Public/government werk experience (particularly those serving as County Supervisors, City Council members, or those involved with social service or equity as part of their job;

We provide BOD training to all new board members and believe in empowering people in our community by providing leadership traiining and experience.
